Other Laws About Non-Visual Access

The following laws cover various aspects of nonvisual access to information and communication technology. They are listed separately here because they do not pertain to government information or education.

 

In 2018, HB1088 was enacted into law. This law states that there must be a nonvisual access clause requirement in every bid for proposal for information and communication technology purchased by the state. In 2020, HB 557 was enacted into law. This law requires electric scooter companies to place tactile identification on each scooter so that blind people can identify the scooter company and complain to it along with the rest of the general public.
