The mission of the Maryland State Library for the Blind and Print Disabled (LBPD) is to provide comprehensive library services to the eligible blind and print disabled residents of the State of Maryland. Our vision is to provide innovative and quality services to meet the needs and expectations of our patrons.
LBPH Provides:
•Books and magazines in Braille delivered either through the US mail or through digital download
•Books and magazines sent in a specialized format for use with the Digital Talking Book Machine mailed directly to the patron at home or accessed via direct download
•Books in Large Print delivered through the US Mail
•Accessible Technology Training by Appointment
•Accessible Textbook Conversion through the Maryland Accessible Textbook Program
•ADA Compliant Computer Workstations both at LBPD and across the state
•Accessible events and programs held at LBPD and over the phone
All services are FREE to library patrons. Applications must be certified that patrons meet eligibility for services.

Telecommunications Access of Maryland (TAM) is a division of MDoD and operates the Maryland Relay and Maryland Accessible Telecommunications programs. Maryland Relay is a free, public service for individuals who are Deaf, hard of hearing, DeafBlind, or speech-disabled that enables them to communicate using the telephone. The Maryland Accessible Telecommunications (MAT) program offers a wide variety of solutions and tools—from amplified phones to Braille TTYs to tablets— needed to independently make or receive phone calls.

Vanda Pharmaceuticals is dedicated to raising awareness of Non-24-Hour Sleep-Wake Disorder (Non-24) and supporting the blindness community. Non-24 is a rare circadian rhythm disorder affecting up to 70% of people who are totally blind. People living with Non-24 experience excessive daytime sleepiness and nighttime sleeplessness, which leads to impaired social and occupational functioning. This is due to the misalignment between the internal master body clock and the 24-hour day.
