2020 Advocacy Issues

On January 16, 2020, members  of the National Federation of the Blind of Maryland will be in Anapolis to discuss issues of importance with our Maryland legislators. The following fact sheets provide an overview of our legislative priorities for the coming year.

• Restoring the Secret Ballot to Disabled Voters to Assure Equality in Voting

• Regulating Electric Scooters
  • Uplifting the Maryland Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped into the 21st Century
    • Appropriation for the Center of Excellence in Nonvisual Access (CENA) to Education, Public Information, and Commerce

On June 18, 2020 NFB of Maryland submitted comments to the draft copy of “Connecting Our Future: A Regional Transit Plan for Central Maryland”.
