WHEREAS the National Federation of the Blind has amended its constitution to establish several classes of members at large; and
WHEREAS these members at large, while enjoying the same rights and privileges as regular members, support the efforts of the National Federation of the Blind through significant financial contributions; and
WHEREAS members at large have opportunities to become knowledge able about the problems and aspirations of the blind and about the purposes and functions of this organization; and
WHEREAS members at large, in significant numbers, would constitute a major portion of a viable national constituency; and
WHEREAS members at large may themselves benefit from this organization's new group insurance plans, and Now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the National Federation of the Blind of Maryland, in Convention assembled on this 28th day of October 1978 in the City of Baltimore, Maryland that all members of the National Federation of the Blind of Maryland be encouraged to enroll members at large from their families, relatives, friends, social and business associates, and from members of the community at large; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the officers of the National Federation of the Blind of Maryland take necessary steps to assist and encourage the membership in these efforts.
