Fellow Federationists,

National Convention is Fast Approaching

It is very important for all convention attendees to be present at the Maryland Caucus on Friday, July 1 at 9pm. The meeting will take place in Suwannee 11. Be sure to bring your banquet ticket for banquet exchange. Bring money for Maryland snack bags and be ready to volunteer at the Maryland table in the exhibit hall and be ready to tell us when you will volunteer. For your reference and so you can stop by, especially to purchase instant lottery tickets, the Maryland exhibit table will be C8.

Fellow Federationists:

Annapolis Update.

Congratulations to us!  The 2016 session of the Maryland General Assembly was very successful.  The General Assembly kept the $250,000 in the 2017 budget that Governor Hogan appropriated for the Center of Excellence in Nonvisual Access to Education, Public Information, and Commerce.

Fellow Federationists:

Thank You.

March is always an exceptionally busy month for the NFBMD. We are able to meet our goals and get our work done because many people are willing to lend a hand and participate. Many thanks to everyone who donated money, provided baked goods and participated in our basket bingo fundraiser which took place on March 11. Special thanks to the Central Maryland Chapter, who hosts this event each year. Plan to be at the next basket bingo on March 10, 2017.

Fellow Federationists:

Best wishes for a happy, healthy, successful New Year to everyone.

Although the New Year is in its early stages, as usual, NFBMD is off to a quick start.  The Diabetic Action Network Committee held its first support call on January 7.  All of the participants, even the experienced diabetics, learned something new. These calls will be held on the first Thursday of each month at 7 pm.  The call-in number is 641-715-3272.  The access code is 720125.  Help us spread the word to diabetics or people interested in diabetes.

Fellow Federationists:

Many thanks to everyone who attended and participated in our very successful 2015 State Convention.  We reached our goal of at least 25 new members and were delighted to have registered 344 people.  Check the website, nfbmd.org, for the 2015 Presidential Report.  Don’t miss the panel “Living the Life you Want: Three Federationists Demonstrate How it is Done.”  The audio of this panel will be on nfbmd.org under Success Stories.

Fellow Federationists,
